One of the great pleasures of staying at Dundalli Estate is how easily you can explore the very best of the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Scenic drives wind through dairy country and rainforest, charming villages appear around every corner, and you will never be far from great food, fresh produce and spectacular views.
Here are a few of our favourite places to eat, drink and explore while you are here.
Coffee, Bakeries & Casual Bites
Glasshouse Plantation
A beautiful working coffee plantation just down the road, where beans are grown, roasted and brewed on site. The café is a lovely place to start the day with breakfast and fresh coffee overlooking the countryside.
Kenilworth Bakery
Something of a local legend. The bakery is famous for its enormous donuts and classic country treats. It is a must-stop when visiting Kenilworth.
Mountain View Cafe
Breakfast with one of the best views on the Sunshine Coast. Perched high above Maleny, the café looks out across the Glass House Mountains and is a favourite for long, relaxed breakfasts.
Kondalilla Restaurant
A great stop when exploring Montville and the surrounding hinterland. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or sunset drinks, and their happy hour cocktails are especially popular.

Few things beat a cold drink at a country pub after a day exploring the range.
Maleny Hotel
A classic Queensland pub with one of the best decks in the region. The sweeping views across the Glass House Mountains make this a favourite stop for lunch or sunset drinks.
Montville Pub
Right in the heart of Montville village, this relaxed pub is ideal for a long lunch or afternoon drink after browsing the town’s boutiques and galleries.

Cheese Lovers
The Sunshine Coast hinterland is famous for its dairy country, and cheese lovers will find plenty to enjoy nearby.
Kenilworth Dairies
Located in the heart of Kenilworth, this local favourite produces delicious handcrafted cheeses and dairy products that showcase the region’s farming heritage.
Maleny Cheese
A well-loved local institution known for its fresh milk, yoghurt and cheeses. The perfect place for building a platter to enjoy back at the estate with a glass of wine.

Home to one of the most impressive fromageries in the region. Their carefully curated cheese selection will impress even the biggest cheese lovers!
Local Farmers Markets
Weekend markets are a highlight of life in the hinterland, filled with local produce, fresh bread, handmade goods and artisan treats.
Our favourite is the Witta Farmers Market, held on the third Saturday of each month. It is a relaxed and authentic country market where locals gather to shop for fresh produce and catch up over coffee.

Nature, Gardens and Scenic Drives
Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World
A truly spectacular property overlooking the Glass House Mountains. Wander through beautifully landscaped gardens, enjoy the sweeping views, or book a guided aviary experience.
Kondalilla Falls National Park
One of the Sunshine Coast’s most beautiful waterfalls. The rainforest walking circuit leads to a natural rock pool beneath the falls, a perfect place to cool off on warmer days.

Australia Zoo
Less than an hour from the estate, Australia Zoo is one of Queensland’s most iconic attractions. Founded by the Irwin family, it remains one of the country’s best wildlife experiences.
For something a little special, consider dining at Warrior Restaurant & Bar at the Crocodile Hunter Lodge. The restaurant overlooks a wildlife reserve and offers a memorable dining experience.
Slow Evenings Back on the Estate
Of course, some guests choose to do very little at all.
Enjoy a slow morning coffee on the terrace, spend the afternoon exploring the countryside, and return in the evening to light the fire pit as the sun sets across the range.
Sometimes the best thing to do here is simply slow down and enjoy it.
